Yesterday I sent off "Issue 4 Remix V3" to my editor. It kind of reminds me of my video editing days where all of my project names would be called "Final Version5, but for real this time".
I'm getting closer with each iteration, and once I get it right, the rest will come a lot easier. By the end of Issue 4, the stakes will be very clear, and that will build the narrative momentum needed to bring my two groups of protagonists together.
Issue 4 has been quite an experiment for me, as it focuses entirely on Harvey and Rosie. I'm starting to feel that structurally this comic book is something like a tv/anime series. There's a lot of ground to cover, and sometimes it's ok to do an episode (issue) that revolves around a single character. At this point in the story, Harvey and Rosie are the only two characters who understand that the Mythos is real and dangerous, so it seemed a natural fit to bring them together, and let their actions flesh out the supernatural side of the story.
Rosie was a character that Theresa drew into Issue 2 as the lead singer in the band:
I always had plans for her within the larger Ithaqa story, but during my rewrites I found her to be an integral piece of this first arc. Harvey needed something to investigate, and that investigation needed to provide him with some spooky answers. His search for the Saxton family, and their link to The Church of Flickering Ascension, led him to Rosie. She was kidnapped by the Church as a child, and is the only non-cultist who survived the police raid in 1901... So maybe Rosie knows a thing or two about what's going on in Ithaca...

In order to more accurately reflect how close we are to funding this issue, I'm going to start listing what the current value of my liquid steem wallet is. The numbers that I have been citing this whole time don't reflect the steem loss that comes from other people receiving curation rewards, or that is lost through SBD conversion. Just putting this here for full transparency.
