Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation and a pinch of creativity. - Bo Bennett
We're living it up!
In only a few days our project 'Dreams of the Ocean' has accelerated in many ways. It seems that the closer we come to the event, the more opportunities are growing. Having an enthusiastic team behind you that's completely on fire for the cause definititely helps to work wonders.
What started as an experiment last year is now turned into a professional charity event.
Here's an update on our great progress!
The new look&feel of the @dreamsoftheocean account
Things are falling into place!
Opportunities increase when you help others win, and I'm grateful to cooperate with people who share the very same spirit and are as crazy about the whole project as I am.
To those who're getting in touch with @dreamsoftheocean for the first time today: We organize watersports activities for kids in need, all financed by the amazing Steem community. Last year we taught a group of 48 kids to surf, this year we're offering swim trainings.
While we were still negotiating with the venue and transportation company last week, I'm happy to let you know that the deals are closed now and we're ready to roll out the event!
From the 23rd of July until the 22nd of August 14 kids from our network here on the isle of Lanzarote (Canary Islands) will have the possibility to learn swimming during a total of 14 swim classes.
A team of professional instructors and life guards will accompany them during the process and help them to enjoy this little adventure in the best way possible.
We're pretty sure they gonna love it!
We'll effectively change the lives of 14 kids forever.
All this wouldn't be possible without our amazing partners: @fundition, @starkerz and @cryptocurator from the #promo-steem team as well as my local partners: the Red Cross Lanzarote and the aqua&sports center Lanzarote.
Everybody's contributing in the way they can - and more than that.
We're really happy to see that wherever I knock on doors people are very open to the idea and appreciate what we do. That helps to push things forward and also have the chance to bring in some love for detail.
While last year's event was a bit improvisational and built from scratch, the experience gained over the last month helps us now to bring the whole activity to the next level.
That's the way the venue is supposed to look like in a bit more than two weeks: Yeah, a steemy scenery!
Mock-up: Some shiny Steem beach flags at the aqua&sports center Lanzarote
Thank you so much @starkerz who donated the promo steem banner on behalf of the #promo-steem community, thank you very much team @fundition for financing the fundition banner through upvotes on our blog posts and thanks to @surfermarly for providing the Dreams of the Ocean flag!
We're really happy that we'll light up the venue that way.
A professional photographer - sponsored by the venue - will take some shiny shots for the press report to be released. Like that we can assure some nice media coverage for all partners represented - and the whole Steem network.
Imagine that there were times when we had only one application running on Steem.
Now we can showcase the idea of 'the internet of value' in so many different ways and through so many different, successfully running dApps.
Thanks to those who're supporting us on that steemy way!
Setting up the project on fundition.io turned out the be an amazing move.
In only 9 days we've received $53 SBD and $14 Steem in donations only through the network of @fundition. That's incredible! Not to mention the support we've received by the fundition.io team.
Thank you @addicttolife, @adollaraday, @benadapt, @betterthanhome, @bitrocker2020 and @geetharao for your generousity! We highly appreciate your recent contributions.
And then something really sweet happened!
During a recent discord conversation with @ppro (Nico), he told me:
Go have a look at @dreamsoftheocean's wallet.
There it is! Our very first SP delegation - baaaaam! Thank you so much @ppro :-)
The Steem network really seems to be on fire.
So we thought it could be a could momentum to expand our promotional activities around the project and reach out to people outside the Steem community.
Taking advantage of the fact that the project is very well received wherever we present it, we decided to set up a little social media campaign and direct some fresh traffic towards the blog.
You can now join us on Facebook and invite your friends to do the same: https://www.facebook.com/dreamsoftheocean
In order to provide both the FB page and our Steem blog with a boost, we created some ads that are now running on Facebook and Instagram:
The campaign is a little sponsorship by @surfermarly, no donations will be touched here...
Two ads: one promoting Steem and one promoting our FB page
Now we have only one more wish: Days should have at least 25 hours! :-)
To be honest right now we feel as if we were dancing on five weddings at the very same time.
Yet, the fact that this is "a passion thing" makes you forget about all the hours spent. It doesn't even feel like work anymore, and the above mentioned partners have a great stake in that.
We can go fast when we're alone, but we only can go far when we're a team.
Remember: If you can't do great things, then do small things great.
Thanks for your support,
The dreamers
