Despite the negative position of regulators, the largest European high-frequency trader of exchange traded funds Flow Traders NV occupied its niche on cryptornics.
The management of the financial markets of Holland (AFM) warns citizens of the country regarding digital assets. The regulator claims that it is necessary to hinder the crypto-currency activity of both ordinary investors and holders of professional licenses.
Flow Traders NV is headquartered in Amsterdam. Experts say that this is the first public company that buys and sells exchange notes (ETNs) based on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). At the same time, the Swedish company XBT Provider, the issuer of crypto currency ETNs, reports that the volume of trade of Flow Traders NV with these securities has grown significantly during the last months.
Many cryptanalysts believe that publicly traded notes / funds will become attractive to institutional investors, since it is a safer and easier way to gain access to a new asset class.
Flow Traders NV Chief Executive Officer Dennis Dijkstra commented on the situation and said that the cryptology has great potential.
"People underestimate cryptography ... This is a big segment, and it will need to be properly regulated in the near future. Market participants have much more professionalism than many are used to think. Institutional investors are interested in this type of trade. We are sure of this, because we constantly receive requests, "Dijkstra says.
