Welcome everybody! Welcome to my new series where i find certain individuals or websites that have outrageous or frankly laughable claims. Okay let's get started!
My first entry on this series is a team of local indonesian scientists that claim that their brand of cigarettes can cure cancer. The Team of five people, have presented a theory that the reason why cigarettes are toxic is because they contain a trace of mercury, a highly toxic metal which is true. Cigarettes do contain mercury but they also contain 4000 other chemicals which 51 of them are carcinogenic. Chemicals like carbon monoxide (Found in car exhaust), tar (material to make roads), arsenic (rat poison), acetone (nail polish remover). A cigarette has so many toxic chemicals that i can't even write all of them here otherwise the whole post would be just cigarette chemicals. So by just removing the traces of mercury just can't turn a normal cigarette into a healthy cigarette or better yet a "Divine Cigarette".
So how do they do it? How do they remove the traces of mercury from a normal cigarettes? Well based on their website they use "Nano technology" to remove it. This team of 5 have treated almost 30,000 patients by literally blowing smoke into their ears and in their skin. They think that by blowing the cigarette smoke it will fill the pores of the skin and have some kind of healing effect.
Here's another example of the process, They take syringes fill them with "Divine Smoke" and blow them on their patients skin
So did they do any research or just take it to a lab to confirm their theory? No. A ABC Reported took it to two manufacturers and One of them said that the idea was "Really Dangerous" and the other one said it was "Quite stupid".
So let's throw some facts, About 57 million people smoke in indonesia. 63% Male and 5% female, 300,000 people die every year in indonesia from cigarette cause diseases. And what is more fucked up is that 30% of indonesian children started smoking at the age 10...
What pisses me off about these so called scientists is that they are taking advantage of a superstitious country, by telling them they can cure a disease with an unproven method and encouraging people to smoke their so called "Divine Cigarettes". This ain't the 1920s anymore, We have laboratories that could test your theory but they don't even bother to do that.
So in conclusion... No this cigarette won't cure cancer or any disease.
