On the kardashev scale there are 5 types of civilisations that have each advanced to a level that is beyond our current physical world, well if you must know we are currently type 0 on the civilisation scale, it would be nice to get an upgrade anytime soon.
The scale what does it mean?
The Kardashev scale was introduced by russian physicist Nikolai Kardashev, he was astute follower towards signs of extraterrestrial life within the galaxy, he has classed 3 civilisation types based on energy consumpations, these are known as Type I (10¹⁶W), Type II (10²⁶W), and Type III (10³⁶W). Physicist today have went on to add an extra two level in civilisation types which are Type IV and Type V,.
So what do these civilisation type mean?
The next 100 years of our life is absolutely critical towards the scientific development of our society, we will either reach for the stars or break for it. We are currently a type 0 civilisation it is avery primitive age of technological development and when it comes to energy we are only consuming 5% of the energy that is actually available in our entire galaxy, and it could be why we need science to play a leading role in our development.
The Kardaschev scale states that as a civilisation advances its energy needs will increase dramatically this could be the development of newer technologies.
A type 1 civilisation is one that has harnessed all the viable energy available to them on the host planet, at current level we would need to harness 100,000,000 times more energy from earth, this would mean we would have developed infrastructure that could control natural events such as volcanoes, the weather and earthquakes, it is a hard feat to reach but it would be some achievement.
Type 2 civilisation requries to harness the complete enery of the star, almost controlling the star, there is a famous hypothesis that describes the use of a"Dyson Sphere" a massive mega structure that encompasses the entire star harnessing every single unit of energy from the star, this would give us enoromus amount of energy we would be able to move planets and change their orbits incase of asteriod heading towards us.
Type 3 civilisation, now that we have successfully transformered from elite civilisation, this type of civilisation is somewhat infeasible due to the physical limit of the human mind however not impossible, this would make us the master of the universe, at this stagae the human race has already learned to both biological and mechanical evolve itself, perhaps more machine than human, at this stage of human civilisation it would be immortality for human life with the substantial amount of energy at its disposable.
It is something we need to start anticipating science has no limits, and we will become apart of it.
