EpicDice a Decentralized Application Built on the Steem Blockchain
EpicDice is a gambling game where you can wager Steem that a random number generated between 1 and 100 will be below the number you choose. The odds and the payout are dependant on the number selected. For example, if you choose 95 (the safest bet), then your payout will be 1.043 x if the random number is below 95. If you bet that the outcome will be below 2 (the most dangerous bet) and a 1 shows up, then your payout will be 98 x your wager. The house wins 2% in the long-run and in the event of a tie, you lose. EpicDice is similar to other gambling DApps built on Steem such as MagicDice
Trust is not an issue with EpicDice, each bet has a transaction ID that is forever stored on the blockchain; you can verify every single roll. There is no way of cheating for either the player or the house. There is no indication that EpicDice is manipulating the volume on their casino and they have not promised anything which hasn't been delivered. There were issues with MagicDice pre-mining and changing the dividend payout rates and Steem-bet arbitrarily raised their token amount by 5x and runs a bot network mining their own dividends. Integrity extremely important on the Steem Blockchain and EpicDice seems to get that.
Weekly Betting Contest
EpicDice has a weekly betting competition to drive volume, whomever bets the most gets at least 100 Steem, the winner in the image is cut off because I wanted to show that I am in 7th place. EpicDice also plans on issuing their own token in the future so players can receive dividends according to how much they have played an how much they have wagered. They promised to retroactively pay stakes to anyone who has ever bet on their site. They are finalizing the whitepaper or dividend scheme and should release it soon. Let's hope they don't change their payout structure after they publish it (Looking at you @magicdice and @steem-bet)
