Hi Steemit!
We are so glad to introduce the first official post of Gaamit, a platform based on Steemit dedicated to Indie Game Developers.
Gaamit is completely open source, and it is being developed by two Italian engineers @mikepicker and @lino.
Why Gaamit
As engineers and occasionally game developers, we noticed that the majority of small developers struggle to support their projects. Making a game is a hard task, since it involves many engineering and artistic aspects, therefore they are often engaged in many months of hard work.
The main problem is that unless they manage to successfully launch a crowdfunding campaign, there are little or no ways to fund the development. Even platforms like Patreon have proven not to being so effective for this job. Many valuable projects never see the light due to lack of funds.
This often leads to frustration and failure.
Social networks like Twitter or Facebook, are literally flooded with so many amazing posts about game development, since it is their habit to create valuable posts about their creations. Take a look here to make yourself a picture.
Gaamit mission is to help game developers supporting their games leveraging the Steemit blockchain and its reward-oriented philosophy.
Thanks to Gaamit each game developer will have his own profile page showing his games and his activity. They will also be able to follow other gamedevs, engage with them, earn badges based on their SP and much more. Furthermore, even their fans would take advantage of Gaamit, since they will be rewarded too.
We firmly believe that Gaamit is going to give a huge boost to Steemit community.
Gaamit Logo
We have finally choosen the logo for Gaamit:
It represents the developers on the left come together with their fans on the right, creating a shape which resembles two HTML closing brackets.
The colors are inspired by Steemit, so to underline of how Gaamit is tied to this fantastic platform.
The adventure begins!
Plan is to publish a first working version online by the end of this week, so we can start letting people sign up.
If you like the idea, you're warmly welcomed to follow us, and remember:
every upvote will support the development!
So, help Gaamit to help Steemit grow :)
