We've excited to announce our first tentative road map for STEEMBots. We will be breaking the development up into phases with each phase having a playable conclusion. If you have visited out fundition page we are offering beta access to anyone willing to help fund the project. Our team of 3 (currently) consists of @bflanagin, @liamflanagin (age 9), and @seamusflanagin (age 8). Along with updates here. Ben, Liam, and Seamus will all be blogging about their progress individually so feel free to follow all of them here on the STEEM network.
Phase 1
(Nov 15th - Feb 15th)
Phase 1 will be one of the harder phases when it comes to the technical aspects of the game. Each phase will be broken into two parts: Programming,Design
Programming
- User login. (via STEEM)
- Fetching info to generate first robot.
- Setup database for parts, create unique identifiers for each object type.
- Fetch user posts and generate "loot" (new parts, decorations, energy modules, etc)
- Create logic to connect pieces together.
- Default logic to interact with your robot in mini games that increase stats.
- Puzzles : Intelligence
- Runner : Agility
- Target Practice : Accuracy
Art
- Bot bodies * 10
- Bot arms * 10
- Bot locomotive parts * 10
- Default setting for users to interact with their bots
- Various decorations for the setting.
- One puzzle type*
- One Runner Level*
- One Target Practice area*
*More could be possible if time allows.
Phase 2
(Feb 15th - May 15th)
Programming
- Ability for the bot to comment on user's post about gear found
- More Puzzles for mini games.
- First mission logic.
- Network connection to allow p2p interactions
Art

- bot locomotive parts
- Mission assets (depends on the mission yet to be decided)
- Battle arena*
- Assets for mini games
*Battling is a feature we want to implement but due to the complexity of VS fighting games it may not be included in phase 2.
Phase 3
( May 15th - July 15th)
Programming
- Continue tweaking p2p code
- Add skins to possible loot (very rare)
- Add Market for buying and selling parts (based around SBD / STEEM)
- Add skin purchase options.
- Multiplayer Missions co-op and versus.
- Create easy add code for missions, puzzles, parts and skins*
Art
- Mission Assets
- "Home" Decorations
- Robot Parts (as needed)
- Skins (of course)
*This should be a part of the design from the beginning but by the end of phase 3 the system should be as near to drop in code as possible for the developers sanity if for nothing else.
First Release
(July 30th)
If everything goes well we'll release the first publicly playable version around the 30th of July. Depending on funding and community support we will then launch the next leg of the project which will see the closing of the monthly Fundition project, assuming that the project is self funding. What the next leg will be really depends on the usual metrics.
