Ahoy! Last weekend we had a second Community Day this month. As part of the Season of Heritage it was a Back to Basics Community Day featuring Bulbasaur. Which had the same 3x Catch XP as the Spheal Community Day. This one was only 3 hours from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, which used to be the length for them in the past.
I was a bit busy that weekend, and already had some other posts to make this week. Which is why I'm a bit late on this one's recap.
I already had a 100% IV Purified Venusaur that I made a long time ago when Frenzy Plant was available. As I've mentioned before I almost never do Mega Raids. I did build up a bit of Mega Energy for Venusaur over time, from Field Research tasks etc. But I had never Mega Evolved Venusaur yet. This Community Day was the most ideal to do so, which I did at the start.

This time I was already outside before the event started and met up with some friends at the beginning to start walking around with them. It was quite cold, but the weather was decent. Cloudy with no rain at all so we could easily walk around the whole time.
At some point a friend quickly stopped to buy a snack from a shop, while waiting on him I decided I'll catch the Magnemite that was near me too. Turns out it was a Shiny 😂 Terrible stats though as you can see here. I caught a total of 15 Shiny during the 3 hours, of which 14 were Bulbasaur. One of those was a 3-star.

I've never encountered a lot of Bulbasaur, because during its first Community Day I couldn't play as much and wasn't very lucky. Then in that December I definitely got one, but nothing really good. Apart from that one I had another one because I have a Party Hat Bulbasaur that I believe I hatched sometime during the first event those came out.
I decided I'll evolve the Shiny 3-star that I caught that day to Venusaur as that was the best Shiny. Here you can see its stats and after evolving it.

Before the event started I had about 180 Bulbasaur XL Candy, and after the event I had 322. Which included some from transferring already. I kept a few Bulbasaur to evolve, but already transferred the others. I didn't take a screenshot of the catches before the event, so couldn't make that comparison this time.
How did the event go for you?
