The Seasons Change: Part 2 has begun, which will last through October 19 at 10 PM PDT. With the start of this event we have received a new Team GO Rocket themed Special Research. Which is the first one since March. Back in March we received the "The Shadowy Threat Grows" Special Research, which you have to finish in order to receive the new "An Inter-egg-sting Development" Special Research.
I've usually been keeping mine until the next month, to get that month's Shadow Legendary from Giovanni rather quickly and begin the new one. This was due to me not finishing it in time the first month. However during summer with the GO Fest we had to defeat Giovanni to obtain Shadow Mewtwo and that's when I finished The Shadowy Threat Grows.
This event has more Team GO Rocket activity at Pokéstops, which I have already noticed. The today view also says more Team GO Rocket balloons should be appearing, but I haven't noticed more balloons than before yet. Perhaps I haven't played enough to notice it yet. As the event is Team GO Rocket inspired, there are also more Poison- and Dark-type Pokémon appearing in the wild.
When defeating a Team GO Rocket Leader, you can now obtain a Strange Egg from them. You do have to make sure you have an open spot for an Egg before you fight them in order to receive it. This Egg requires 12 km to hatch.

These Strange Eggs are here to stay even after the event ends! However the event has a 1/4th hatch distance bonus, so it's definitely good to obtain some Eggs during this event as you'll be able to hatch them much faster!
In these Eggs we can only find Pokémon that have the Poison- or Dark-type or that acquire either of these types through Evolution.
New Pokémon from the Unova region are now making their Pokémon GO debut through these Strange Eggs as well! These are Pawniard, Sandile and Vullaby. Right now I'm unsure if they will be available in the wild or not at some point, due to being available from these Eggs. Only time will tell.

From my first Strange Egg that was seen in the previous screenshot, I have hatched a Sandile! In the next screenshots you can see the Sandile hatching, my Pokédex registry for it and its stats.
A 96% IV for my first hatch of Sandile, that's definitely not bad! :D
