It's no secret that Mass Effect Andromeda was a bit of a let down. Suffice it to say, it was pushed out the door a few months too soon, and with the downsizing of the production studio in Bioware Montreal, the series' future is clearly in doubt. It's nearly been three months since the release of MEA and it's received a few new patches.
I've played through the original trilogy of Mass Effect and I loved every minute of it. I'm a bit of a completionist myself, so I burrowed myself into every nook and cranny and became engrossed in the deep, and wondrous universe that Bioware had created. However, I don't think of the games with my nostalgia goggles on. I still remember frustrating bugs in Mass Effect 1 with missions not completing properly, or invisible walls in Mass Effect 2, or strange and confusing animations across the series. It wasn't perfect. The same issues plagued MEA during its first few months after release.
Now on version 1.08 MEA has a new breath of fresh air. The animations are smoother and more natural. The depth and beauty of the worlds are beyond comparison to the original trilogy. Some of the stories could have higher stakes, but I've genuinely enjoyed and come to love the family I've found in Andromeda. If you haven't got it yet, do so. At $30USD, Mass Effect Andromeda is absolutely worth it with easily 60 - 100 hours in an average to perfectionist playthrough.
