Devotion leaves the Steam store and all publishers cease relationships with the developers behind it.

Xi Jinping Winnie the Pooh Moron
This is what a poster says, in very small characters along the edges, in reference to a popular meme mocking the chinese President, Xi Jinping. When chinese gamers spotted it, a surge of negative reviews swarmed the Steam store page. Until then, Because every partner abandoned the studio behind the title, console versions got cancelled.
Up until this started to happen, Devotion was received as a brilliantly executed immersive horror game that gained a huge following, showing up on the Steam top sellers list on the main page of the website. Now, it has completely disappeared, except for a developer note saying "the title was pulled so it can go through extensive Quality Assurance testing".
Some people mentioned this happened because of the Taiwan-China divide, saying Devotion is not place to insert such messages. Regardless of this holding true or not, this is clearly an act of censorship merely out of spite. I personally believe the penalties on the sudio members go well beyond what the public media has announced.
The outcome of this speaks volumes of how every company and industry bends over to the greater financial powers in our modern world, where a single message can have such a devastating effect if it messes with the wrong people.
