So I work at an IT shop, and most of the stuff we have are CPUs, GPUs, RAM sticks, HDDs, SSDs, cases, monitors, PSUs, tools, screws, all of that, old and new... So my coworker taking this out of a drawer and showing it to me was... Odd.
For two reasons:
- It's a general business oriented IT shop
- Brazil never had an official launch of the NES console or its games
He said he played tons of this as a kid, and was his introduction to RPGs. Dragon Warrior is now Dragon Quest in the west, it was changed in the beginning due to copyright issues.
I'm not sure if he played it on original NES hardware or clone hardware (which was really common here) and I couldn't even ask because I was too dumbfounded by how well the cartridge looked.
Apparently Dragon Warrior carts are quite common in the states, but most certainly not here, so I felt like this was worthy of cataloguing.
Definitely a distraction from formatting PCs, testing mobos and fixing laptop screens.
