Steemit is just a side gig for me, most things are. Partially because I am terribly preoccupied with my day job, that is, writing travelling sports articles, and partially because I feel offended by myself if I write in my free time too. The other things fall into this side gig category because of my deteriorating motivation toward everything, with a few exceptions.
Gaming falls into this "meh category" too. For many years I was a huge gamer. Starting from Dune 2000 up to maybe Path of Exile, and I tried myself in game making too on many occasions. Mostly with the RPG maker series, because they don't require coding. You see, I never learnt how to code properly, due to my issue with staying focused for more than a month or two on any subject.
The silver lining is that I am not just lazy, but curious too. If you ask me, that's a steady combination of personal traits.
My curious part pushes me forward to find the easiest way to achieve whatever I have in mind. Striving for simplicity, and efficiency! I feel like the guy who invented the 5-year plan! Anyhoo, this curiosity introduced me to a rather new game developing platform called #Buildbox. It's neat. Very neat indeed! Since I have it, I changed up gaming time, to game making time.
I decided to make a platformer, which is not the most supported genre of this program, but I don't care too much. Here's how my project looks after 2 weeks.
I've learnt a lot about the program and discovered the chummy community behind Buildbox. Yet, on Steemit, I don't see any discussion on game making. So chaps, if you make your own game, or interested in the topic, then show yourselves and show me what you got!
