It is no secret that I have a lot of video games in my house. Not only that, I have a large variety of consoles. There's a Xbox One S, PS3, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and of course, a gaming PC. There's also a PSP, and a 2DS.
There's literally hundreds of games in my house. If I include my digital collection, it's probably close to a thousand games. I have not played many of them, but I have played a lot of them.
This series of posts will examine the games I've got in my house which I haven't touched - at all.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope
A game that I was intruiged in for some time - its a space-faring JRPG - I don't know what I'm expecting, but it definitely isn't a JRPG themed Mass Effect.
I know there's heaps and heaps of hours of gameplay in that title alone - and it will probably be a question of what dies first - my PS3, or my will to subject myself to (typically poor) voice acting.
Lair
This is a very, very old PlayStation 3 title. It's about Dragons. At least, that's what the "more images" box says on the first page of google search results.
I had high hopes, but the second article is from esteemed video game publication - Polygon, which opens with the title of "Lair: What went wrong", and starts with...
“Lair was a genuine fuck-up by everybody involved, probably me the worst,” says Julian Eggebrecht, one of Factor 5’s co-founders, about the studio’s disappointing PlayStation 3 game.
So, if that means anything, I've either got a flawed masterpiece to look forward to, or a genuinely terrible game.
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom
I honestly only bought this game because I thought it was a Dungeon Siege Clone. It legitimately hasn't entered the disc drive of my PS3, just like all the other games I am writing about in this article.
I don't have anything else to say about this game, other than ... I think this was a release title for the PS3, and I probably got it about that time, and still... haven't touched it. Such a pathetic piece of backlog shame!
Resonance of Fate
From Wikipedia:
Resonance of Fate takes place on Earth in the distant future. When atmospheric pollution nearly annihilates life on Earth, the remnants of humanity construct a purification system called Basel. In time, the surviving human population create a civilization around Basel's central tower, watched over by its mechanical core Zenith. Zenith ties human lives to quartz stones, making them immune to the pollution while giving them predetermined social status and lifespans.
This sounds like a plot that seems to be knocking on the shores of the very nation I reside in, which is presently being ravaged by fires of unspeakable proportions, and fires that are likely to intensify as summer goes on.
This might be a prophetic game that I play in my very poorly prepared post-apocalyptic bunker, which doesn't exist.
Red Dead Redemption
Yes. The original one. So far in the backlog that I didn't even own the original release, but a Game of the Year Edition. I played this for about fifteen minutes before my supremely short attention span of the day decided to go and frolic elsewhere.
Its something that I do see value in - in that it is Grand Theft Horse - and something that was legitimately lauded as a decent game. I just haven't had the motivation to properly sit down and play it... and I'm not sure that I will be attempting to start it any time soon, with many other... distractions in this list and those to come awaiting me...
Lost Odyssey
Noticing a trend of Role Playing games? Lost Oddyssey is one of those. It is meant to be a very good roleplaying game, and probably one of the best on the Xbox.
I know not a lot about its history, story, or ... its raison d'etre ... but this one's copy awaits a play through.
Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection
So, I've played Metal Gear Solid 2. That's the only game I've played out of this collection. I loved that game to death, and regret every second of doing .. .whatever I did to my PS2 to no longer have it, and that game in my possession anymore.
That's what made me buy this collection. MGS2, and that alone. I've loved that game since I first got the demo with the marketing-tacticy Zone of the Enders...
But, I never played Metal Gear Solid 3. I never Played Peace Walker on the PSP, either - so these are games where I will strap myself in and prepare for 14 hour long cutscenes intermixed with 3 minutes of awkward sneaking.
Enchanted Arms
I bought this game just because it has the name "Arms" in the title, and "Wild Arms" on the PS1 was a fantastic game. That's literally the only reason, and reasonable excuse for me owning this game at all...
I don't know much else about it at all, except that the box art is pretty... cool, I guess.
White Knight Chronicles
The Japanese developer Level 5 is responsible for one of my all-time favourite games, J'eanne D'Arc, which was released on the PSP, as an alternate history take on Joan of Arc.
White Knight Chronicles is my way of giving that developer additional space in my life, and hopefully, in the future, another incredible role playing experience from one of my favourite devs, who are known for writing good stories, backed up with decent gameplay mechanics.
This concludes the first part of my backlog shame. I haven't mentioned the 2DS or 3DS games in this post - but there's a few Fire Emblem games in there - which add at least another few hundred hours to my backlog.
