Gaming is a multi Trillion dollar business. The reason therefor is, it's fun, relatively affordable and just all round great products.
Why Gaming is awesome?
Well we connect when we play with friends, it's like a movie you control (singleplayer games).
And contrary to popular belief games are good for you, yes if you sit too close to a tv it will not be beneficial for you, but the high action in games triggers the rewards pathway system in your Brain which makes you feel a sense of achievement and goal oriented, as well as the hippo campus which is associated with learning and memory.

They also help you develop problem solving skills, you know by actually having problems to solve, or those bosss battles you have to work out a strategy for, yeah that's helping you.
They enhance creativity.

Studies have shown that kids that play games have an enhanced sense of creativity so go out and get your 5 year old that PS4 pro that you are probably gonna end up playing with and giving him a blanky or something.
They decrease stress and anxiety.

We all have enough stress in our lives, so why not take some of that stress away by blowing someones head off in GTA5 and pretending its your boss, or that girlfriend that left you for no reason. Or how about recklessly driving down the opposite lane in Need For Speed and showing the cops who's boss? Whatever floats your boat man.
As we all know, they make you social.

Meeting players in person that you met online isn't the SAFEST thing to do but it is an option. Alot of people are real people not 45 year old stalkers on ROBLOX waiting for their next victim. But it's safe to say that if someone is begging or over persistant to meet you its not a good bet.
That said not all gamers live in their mothers basement though... So get your mic and Mingle!!

I enjoy playing games, it makes me happy because its a community I'm glad to be apart of! Ask anyone, we play for kicks, no one plays because they have to, and so what if you think it's bad for you, if you smoke and drink and think that's good for you....
There are so any genres of games, a taste for every person so do what you like best, drive cars, play horror games, hunt deer, kill people, kill machines (*Cough* Horizon Zero dawn *cough*)
In a nutshell, if you enjoy it, take pride in it , invite friends over and get a party rolling
