This one goes out to @kittyandcheese who LOVES Tetris! This game is one of the first true game addictions. The original spawned countless sequels and knock offs.
Heck there was even an Atari 2600 version!
1984 – Alexey Pajitnov creates Tetris while working as a programmer in the USSR, using a Russian computer called the Electronica 60. The name was a portmanteau of tetra, the Greek word for four, and tennis, his favourite sport.
Tetris (styled TETЯIS) is a puzzle game developed by Atari Games and originally released for arcades in 1988. Based on Alexey Pajitnov's Tetris, Atari's version features the same gameplay as the computer editions of the game, as players must stack differently shaped falling blocks to form and eliminate horizontal lines.
