Hello,
It has been a while since I have shown you my garden. Here is a 2 month updated.
You can see the broccoli is growing quite well. Yesterday when I was watering the garden there were two hummingbirds that landed on the broccoli leaves multiple times. It was so fun.

The bok choy has been the best producing plant in this fall garden. We had bok choy salads every day last week.
The spinach and Swiss Chard are growing a bit slower. Still they are great supplements to the bok choy for the salads.
Yesterday, my friend's nephew (12 years old) came over and helped me harvest the leafy greens. It was so great showing him how to harvest leafy greens and him being so curious about how the vegetables grow.

I planted a bunch of flowers and there are some growing now.

In the back of the garden the peas and carrots are coming up.

Here is a view of the whole garden. I imagined and planted enough seeds for the whole garden to be full. That didn't happen so we are working what what we have!
I have been reading In Praise of Slowness by Carl Honore.
In almost every culture, the garden is a sanctuary, a place to rest and ruminate, Niwa, the Japanese word for garden, means "an enclosure purified for the worship of gods." The act of gardening itself- planting, pruning, weeding, watering, waiting for things to grow- can help us slow don. Gardening does not lend itself to acceleration. In a hurry up world, where every thing is scheduled for maximum efficiency, surrounding to the rhythms of nature can be therapeutic.
I love this quote! My garden is my place of quiet, slowness, rhythm, contemplation. It is a place I look forward to going to and being in everyday.
