Hi to all Steemians !
Today, I´m sharing this great idea to plant salad greens in containers.
I have saved all those cracker containers that came from my home country , The Philippines. They`re very ideal to plant those lettuce and salad greens. Actually, any empty container would do or pots that are big enough to grow one lettuce head.
I use one container for one head of lettuce and placed or group them together in a sunny area of my upper terrace ... And because I have a small garden downstairs, I could not plant them there because the slugs will surely attack them overnight and they´ll be gone and get devastated...
We have an upper terrace of approx. 9 sqm/ 96sqft that we normally do not use because it´s so hot up there.. it´s an ideal place to grow veggies and they are well protected both sides from gusty winds. Since I have a small space, sometimes, I place them on top of the roof which is also ideal because they get all the sunshine they needed.
When the salads are harvested, I just replenish them with newbies from the garden center .... I always have fresh salad greens everyday that are really crispy, knackig and organic!
If you find this a great idea , do give me an upvote, will you !
Many thanks!
