My mom was talking to me today about the rhododendrons and azaleas that are blooming around the house. So, being the inquisitive kitty that I am, I asked her just what those were. (I'm and indoor only kitty, so my outdoor education is a bit lacking), She pulled out her phone and showed me these pictures.
This, she said is a red rhododendron. It is really pretty.
This one and........
and this one are azaleas. When I asked the difference, she said that they technically are now both classified as rhododendrons, but truthfully, azaleas, or at least ours are deciduous and that the 'rhody' is an evergreen. However, there are some azaleas that apparently are evergreen. Sounds a bit confusing to me, but hey, I'm a cat!
She also said that obviously, the bees love them all! You can hear the bushes 'buzzing' with bee activity. Me personally, I think I'll just enjoy her photos and let the bees have at it. Have a purrr-fect day!
