Who loves coffee? Well I would be one of those people who loves coffee. I can drink atleast 3-4 cups of black coffee everday. My day will start by sipping a cup of coffee in the morning, after I ate my lunch, I will make a cup of coffee by mid afternoon and drinking again before I go to bed.
Some of my friends didn't like black coffee but whenever I drink a 3 in 1 coffee mix, it makes me to burp and that causes me to have mild acid reflux. I really don'g know if that was an acid reflux but when I drink black coffee, it won't affect my stomach that much. Maybe the cream from an instant coffee was not that good. I bet milk is the best option as a creamer for our coffee.
No wonder why milk was used for making lattes. Way back to my teen age years, I really wished to a barista. I wanted to make my own coffe shop and bake good tasting breads, cakes and pastries. Just a few weeks ago I was interested to look for latte art tutorial on Youtube. It's pretty simple to look at but I knew that it was not that simple doing it actually.
I order my French Press coffee plunger online and arrived two days ago. I didn't have a full fat milk at the moment so I really have to look for an alternative one to replace milk. I don't want to waste any coffee just by practicing making latte. Luckily I thought that I can used food color/dye to replace the coffee and liquid dish soap in replacement for coffee.
Things I used:
Liquid Dish Soap
Food Color
Water
Empty Bottle
Drinking Glass
Preparations:
- I put water into empty bottle and drops small amount of dish liquid soap. Then I cover the lid and shake it few times. When I got a small and more thick bubbles I stopped it.
- I put a drop of violet food color into drinking glass and put some water then mix it well.
Since I don't have an aluminum pitcher I've decided to use my french press. I poured all the liquid soap that was on my bottle and tried to pump it again using the french press. (In that way I cleaned it and tried it for the first time.)
- I tried to pour in a small amount of the liquid towards the water with food color. I gave it a little circular motion to blend.
Woah! I didn't expect that it would be harder than I thought it can be. It is hard to achieve any design at all. I tried it many times and I've wasted more than I was expecting it. Good thing I don't used coffee and milk, I saved lot's of money though.
Anyways, making the right lattes requires a warm full fat milk. Many coffee shops uses espresso and other coffees but for at home coffee lovers like me, an instant black coffee can work too. I just have two decent looking lattes which I made from this experiment.
I really wanted to make a heart latte but I think I cannot achieved it the way milk can do it. I will try again to make latte art using a powdered milk. I wanted to know if that will work so I think this experience of handling my french press and the glass will help me to achieve a better looking latte art soon. Thanks for reading my story today, keep safe and have a good day! ❤
