New York's Attorney General has launched an investigation into some of the world's most popular cryptocurrency exchange platforms, according to CoinDesk. Eric Schneiderman today launched the "Virtual Market Integrity Initiative," claiming that "it was an investigation into the analysis of policies and practices" of cryptocurrencies trading platforms.

Letters were sent to 13 exchange platforms asking for information on "operations, robots, conflicts of interest and other key elements in their operation," according to a press release issued by the company.
"With the increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies, consumers in New York and across the country are entitled to transparency and financial supervision when they invest their money. However, too often consumers do not have the basic data they need to know to analyze the fairness, integrity and security of these trading platforms, "Schneiderman said.
The targeted exchanges are: GDAX, Gemini, BitFlyer, Binance, ItBit, Gate.io, Huobi.Pro, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Bittrex, Kraken, Tidex and Poloniex. by Goldman Sachs.
