You decided to open the gate and head into the backyard. The gate was an old iron clad with a fence that resembled a palisade. The iron was frosty cold and made your fingers shiver when you pressed onto it. Your hands only burned from the cold for a brief moment that went as quickly as it happened.
The entire backyard was one giant cemetery. Most of the headstones were of Italian marble. After looking around some of the names and dates you realized there was not a single death shown in the last decade. It seems the cemetery has gone unused for quite some time.
What was quite strange was that not all of the headstones had a name on them. While others lacked any kind of date. Some had funny sayings like “a duck twice a week,” while others seemed to have quoted philosophers like Socrates and Plato.
Then you caught it out of the corner of your eye. A single black headstone that was not like any of the others. It was darker than a pond at night and smoother than water. There was no name, no date, and no wordings of any kind. It just excised off to the side almost trying to hide out of sight.
This entire place sent shivers up your spine and you had a feeling of wanting to run away. At one point you seemed to have walked past the human section of the cemetery and into the pet part. There were names like Maximums Titan The Third, or simply Lucy.
Many of these headstones for pets had carved in them what the dog looked like. They seemed to be hunting dogs from a Beagle to a Weimaraner and quite a few you have no idea what they were.
You finally make it to what looks like a back porch area. The door inside was a white door with most of the paint peeling off it. You could not see inside the windows. You just knew this would be your way in if you choose.
You can either choose to go back and hope to find a different way in or try to open the door or stand around waiting to see if anything would happen.
