I really love walking in forest and also climb not too crazy mountains. It is awesome, but it isn't always easy to make your kids love the same activities. They are often lazy and rather stay at home watching one screen or another and do other stuff.
What I have discovered is that geocaching might give kids an extra boost that makes it easier for them to join trips to the wild as it gives them something besides fresh air and body movement... it gives excitement and a feeling of a treasure hunt.
I live in Hungary and I use a local version of the big international geocaching applications, but no matter what, it is awesome to combine hiking with treasure hunting.
It is annoying when you are unable to find a treasure, but it makes it all the more fun when you actually find one.
The picture above was made today as I discovered a treasure with my kids and I just made the picture while they were busy finding out which treasures to bring along and what treasures to add to the box in other for other treasure hunters to have fun as they find the same box later.
