I have a matching shelf to my fossil collection, full of geodes.
Among my favorites is the amethyst cathedral.
It is one of the first pieces I picked up when I started collecting. I couldn't resist the deep rich purple crystals in this specimen.
I call geodes the fun rocks, because you never know what you're going to find inside them.
This looks like a cave.
Here is a bismuth geode. Man made but still cool.
Here is a chalcedony geode with an Amethyst opening.
The purple and blue contrast is excellent.
Blue is my favorite color. So this large celestite geode is also among my favorites
The white spot is actually a calcite crystal in the midst of all the blue.
This is an interesting little calcite geode
Another cool blue geode. (all natural)
Actually it's very tiny(only about a centimeter wide)but great things come in small packages.
This chalcedony geode,I call big mouth
This Mexican thunder egg has really amazing calcite crystals.
Most thunder eggs are solid with pockets filled with chalcedony like the small upper pocket. So this one is unique.
Finally, one of my other favorites; an okenite geode.
This clam looking geode has very soft fuzzy crystals that are sooo cool. But don't touch them.
