Beneficiaries are started from fork 18.
Hardfork 18 implemented a feature.
This is quite amazing feature. Users can set beneficiary to someone they admire or someone help them. I don't know about at that time but it is no longer suitable for present time. Beneifciaries can give up to 8 persons. It will converted all to Steem Power(I mean the percentage they get).
It is like posting with 100% power-up. We should not make 100% power-up since Steem price is higher than 1$(USD). If steem price is 2 dollar, the converted SP will be half of SDB from the posts. If they get SBD and after that converted it to steem and they can power-up. In this way they will get more benefit because Steem price can not go down below 1$. It is better to add an option to choose between how much percent will be converted to SBD or SP.
Website like utopian-io give steem to sponsored. So it is better to get beneficiaries as a SBD and later they can change to steem.
