The community contest roars on with the last installment focusing on legendary cards. At least 10 legendary cards need to be in your deck in order to earn points toward winning the contest. The most unique iteration of the four contests in my opinion as this will really create some interesting deck combinations. Naturally, neutral legenderies are the most useful in this contest as they can be played across different deck archetypes. For this specific post, we will focus on the one mana creatures as these are the easiest to implement in my opinion and could provide some great early game opportunities.
1. Deuteria
The cheapest one mana neutral legendary we have is the manashard mage. The strength and health are not bad for a one mana creature and getting a 3/3 creature into your deck can definitely be useful if you are lucky enough to pull it early. This card is probably one that will be seen in every deck over the contest as it is cheap and can offer an easy first turn play without losing the early game.
2. Peculiar Spellwyrm
A risk reward card here as depending on the god you are playing, you could be allowing your opponent to get the very card to destroy this one. The six health at one mana is unrivaled and compares to pyramid warden in terms of survivability in the early game. War and Deception would probably be the best gods to play with this creature. War has great buffed creatures and can overpower your opponent with blitz creatures to ensure board control. Deception is the best in my opinion as dark knives and this card on turn one is an unbelievable combo along with your god power to hide it after every turn. You could deal five damage to face before your opponent knows what hits them.
3. Lara Grim
The magic counter card in my opinion is this one mana neutral legendary. The ramp magic strategy would be hindered by this card as you would be gaining all of the low cost card removal cards from magic. The backline is interesting and would play well with zombie death or nature where low mana wide boards are the norm protecting this card from being removed by one of those magic spells.
4. Possessive Toupee
First off, what a card name as this is one of the memest cards in the game I think haha. There is some RNG to this card as early game the one less health may eliminate a creature and no harm is done whereas a plus three attack pyramid warden could prove to be quite deadly to your game. If you can have it stick, the three attack is quite a nice face hit or card remover. There is not a god I see really benefitting from this card in my opinion and you could see it any deck.
5. Namebinder Zal'zie
Probably my least favorite card of the ones mentioned as in all the decks I play the god power is imperative to my win condition. The one damage to each god for death or the orfeo's distraction god powers are must haves for certain decks like zombie death and hidden rush deception. Probably the least played one mana card for this contest, this is one I would save your money on.
The dragon card is my favorite of all of these in that it is the most powerful as well as easily transferred to any deck in my opinion. A few of these cards are sure to see alot of play over the next few days along with meta cards such as demogorgons. Even if you are not a whale, you could hypothesize some crazy good decks with some cheap legendaries and the team is also giving out greater rewards this time around as each of the top 80 in each rank get rewards for this contest. Hopefully you enjoyed this breakdown and enjoy the last community contest. Please upvote or comment if you have any other strategies you like to use for these one mana legendary cards.
