A great nation is a responsibility, our responsibility and until we know that, our nation might not be great.
....ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country - John F Kennedy
These words were spoken by John F Kennedy about forty-seven years ago during his inauguration as the President of the United States of America and the words are still very relevant today.
We find ourselves in a generation of people who knows their rights, clamour for it but does not think about their duties to the nation. We waste no time blaming the government and pointing accusing fingers at those in the Helm of affairs. It is true that the government has a lot of responsibilities, we mustn't forget our duties or obligations as citizens.
If Nigeria would take her rightful place in the comity of great Nations, it is very important that we rise above pettiness that divides us and work together as people united to achieve a common goal.
We are Torch Bearers of this Nation, we should proffer solutions. We need to be the light in darkness, do things the way they should be done. The change we crave for should begin with us. It is high time we became trail blazers.
A torch bearer is innovative.
A torch bearer is passionate.
A torch bearer is ahead of the pack.
A torch bearer serves.
A torch leads.
It is time to look beyond complaints, take our place and make Nigeria great.
