Hello friends,
Today I'd like to express my heart felt gratitude and deep regard to this wonderful being called Witnesses on steemit and the steem blockchain. Who then is a Witness?
WHO IS A WITNESS
The most apt description is that, Witnesses are guardians of the blockchain!
Regarded as trusted members of the community, Witnesses are generally voted for. considering their qualified and experienced qualities administration of servers, cryptocurrency networks and software, they are expected to keep a block-producing Steem node perpetually running.
Witnesses are elected by the community to "witness" the production of blocks on the Steem network. In other words, they run and maintain nodes (servers) that generate the blocks containing your posts, transactions, upvotes, comments, etc., which are added to the blockchain. Without witness nodes, there is no Steem blockchain.
A more friendly description would be to regard them as our friends and peers. Just like every other members of Steemit they use their money, pay to maintain their own Steemit servers which process all of our upvotes, blogs, comments, and transfers on this platform. Essentially, this helps secure the network, since every witness maintains a server with a constantly updating version of Steemit." Isn't this awesome?
VOTING
There are a many witnesses at the moment having different level of involvement on the Steem platform. Ranging from developers, programmers, engineers, to regular people, all over the world. Each witness contributes to the community in it own unique way. They post in the #witness-category introducing themselves and acquainting us with their projects. Also, they write about their server/witness updates. They can be technical, community-driven, artistic, etc. Whatever melody appeals to your heart, vote for it!
In as much as voting isn't permanet one is allowed to reconsider unvoting a Witness if they were voted for should you find then not appealling anymore. Voting for witnesses is different from upvoting posts. It does not cost you anything and does not reduce your voting power. An of course you can vote for up to 30 witnesses.

Personally, I'm in love with the word KARMA! It simply means "what you what you put into life is what you get!"
