The part of players in India's cricket organization is fringe and ornamental, restricted to the edges and never standard .India does not have a player's body, nor is India part of FICA.
The Lodha board of trustees felt this should change and recommended a structure to make players vital to governance. There are sound motivations to help this reform:players have 'space knowledge',perspective, insight ,hands-on involvement and comprehension of ground reality.
Till now, implementation of this critical Lodha proposal was a non starter and arrangement of the guaranteed player's body stayed on the backburner. But late improvements in India and Australia affirm Mr Lodha was right:India needs players to assume a useful part in cricket organization.
