It is with great sadness that I have to inform all of my followers today that I will quit posting on this account.
I always appreciated the censorship resistant nature of Steem and I was looking forward to be able to contribute my thoughts without there being any intervention from other people as has happened in the past on social media sites like Reddit and Facebook.
I also appreciated being anonymous on the site as it gave me a sense of safety to be able to say what's on my mind, being constructive when I felt the need to be. I did not expect it to go down this path, I should have realized it earlier but I guess I was too busy with other things.
You see, when there is money involved someone will always find a way to censor you, either directly or indirectly.
Now I don't want to scare you Steemians, but I wanna tell you this story about how my life got flipped, turned upside down.
On the blockchain where I spent most of my days, chilling out, relaxing while curating some posts. I noticed a couple of Steemians who were up to no good and they started making trouble in the minnowhood. I asked them why they were flagging those poor minnows who had recently joined and were exercising their right to freedom of speech only to realize that the minnows had flagged the posts of these whales because they didn't agree on the rewards they were getting.
The whales told me to move along and that it was none of my business. As I was seeing the minnows reputation drop down to zero I had to act. I started upvoting them back to a healthy reputation and that's when it started.
I was receiving direct messages from the whales and their followers, telling me "You are done" and threatening to dox me and flag my post rewards. I got in one little flagwar and my mom got scared and said "You're powering down and from now on only posting on your alt account @bel-air"
