Have you ever noticed that even with location services off you get the messages of where you have been? I have, this was on the main stream news, I was shocked. Even if you shut everything off on your phone, google is still tracking you. Here is how to stop them.
Open google browser, search for MY ACTIVITY
Select top search result, once open, click on three lines at top left.
Select ACTIVITY CONTROLS,

If you leave location ON in the phone maps should still work. I have used it since turning google spying ass off. Good luck and enjoy
