The paper I will be discussing today is “The Fountainhead. Entrepreneurs base their decisions on their personal beliefs and not the beliefs of others. A choice is made because you may feel it is right, not because someone else does. The reason this movie is entrepreneurial is that the main character (Howard) never chooses to let his guard down, or give up on his own beliefs. From the beginning, Howard was offered a proposal and there was a company that was very interested in his building design, but at the same time, they made it clear that there were a few things they would like to change. Howard knew this was his last chance at making it or even living his life but chose not to accept it because he felt that was a better decision for himself and innovation for the world. Howard knows that innovation is the key to the world's success and would love to express this side of emission through designing buildings. Around the same time, Dominique Francon was showing efforts to warn Howard that he would be “eaten alive” when trying to succeed in this business. Even after falling in love with each other, Dominique tried to bribe Howard by saying she won't stay with him if he chooses to continue in the business, Howard refused and said that they would meet again in a few years after she realized she was not “afraid” of the world anymore.
I felt this movie was interesting because of the way it portrayed earlier stages of life. Arguably, life has gotten worse and better when it comes to innovation because of society and the government. Even other businesses can sometimes choose to do what is not best for humanity because of money or power. In this case, other competitors chose to do everything in their power to make it as difficult as possible for Howard because they were either jealous of the legacy he might seek, or because of the unnecessary changes he would like to make to freshly built buildings.
There are rarely any individuals that can imagine the opportunities that might arise or the innovation brought upon by others. Society had a hard time realizing what they wanted because every other competitor was trying to keep things in the same category, or even stay in the same building style in this situation. Because society was unaware of the possible changes that could arouse at the time this led them to believe that the same building designs being repeated were completely okay and there was no need for change. Towards the end of the movie, Howard managed to blow up one of the previous buildings he had resigned because he was not rightfully credited or paid for designing it. Society was told otherwise and wanted Howard to be jailed while facing the maximum amount of consequences possible. Howard pled guilty but later on presented his reason for being for the people of the court and after discussing it, the people of the court decided to overturn this decision making Howard not guilty because of the unfairness brought upon by the other organization. Society had realized Howard wanted to stand for what he believed in or loved doing no matter the consequences he may face.
