Which industries already use Artificial Intelligence to provide their goods and services?
Artificial Intelligence is around more than the average person would think. We use it every single day whether we realize it or not. One aspect as to why people do not realize the impact artificial intelligence has on our daily lives is because most people who are influenced by movies like the Avengers or iRobot that show artificial intelligence “wake up” into a human-like form with human-like capabilities. That is not exactly what the artificial intelligence that is used today. Companies like Amazon, Amazon, Google, and even Netflix with some form of artificial intelligence. Amazon’s Alexa is an artificial intelligence that is in many American homes similar to Google’s Google Assistant. These voices analyze the sound to start listening to our voices. They then listen to keywords and phrases to form a response. They can even occasionally recognize sarcasm and have generated jokes. Another major form of artificial intelligence that is up and coming is self-run grocery stores produced by Amazon. Amazon has carts that register any item in the store when you set it into the cart. Then when you go to check out you pay at a self-serve register. This is all possible through an app called Amazon Go. Artificial intelligence also plays a very large role in social media as well. From what we like, to what we post, to what we comment on, to even how long we look at a post determines what can pop up in our feed on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms. There is even artificial intelligence looking to replace Uber drivers, taxi drivers, and Lift drivers. They are developing self-driving cars for cities and even self-driving semi trucks to replace truck drivers. Whether people should be concerned about the increase in technology is a whole different debate. From privacy to job security, there are so many various aspects that can affect our future.
