Mackenzie's Question- "As college students majoring in business, how important is it for us to have a deeper understanding of storage build-up, cryptocurrency, and censorship as we prepare to enter the rapidly progressing business world?"
I believe that it is important to understand crypto and censorship as a business major, but I will admit that I do not understand it at the moment. It is a growing field that needs to be acknowledged, though. With the rise of the trend of selling NFTs and trends in our society with online censorship, this might be a field that entrepreneurs look into entering.
There is a lot of profit to be made because of the newness of the market. Yet, at the same time, there is a lot of risk involved and a lack of stability financially. The trends of crypto and NFTs are rising, but there is still a majority of the population that have no idea what any of it means, including me.
After being in a pandemic for as long as we have been and lots of businesses moving to primarily operate online, censorship is becoming an extremely important topic to stay aware of with online security and data storage. It is interesting to think about how a business might be taking a huge risk when putting most of their data online because of the ability for things to be taken down or censored by authority.
It is also interesting to think about the different types of businesses and how crypto and online censorship might affect each one. For example, how would these things affect a non-profit? Would crypto be a new way for these businesses to reach new investors and stockholders? I think that there is a lot of potential for this industry to allow a lot of businesses to grow and enter new markets, and we will likely see these trends happening as we graduate and enter the corporate world.
