On Tuesday the 4th of February 2025, the worst schoolshooting in Swedish history took place in the middle-sized city of Örebro, Ten people were killed by a person, who after the act committed suicide. Leaving Sweden as a nation in a state of shock, as we've been free of this kind of attack.
For me, being the person I am, it made me feel shocked but also saddened for the lost lives and their families. I always get incredibly touched when a sad thing happens.
So how do I deal with that kind of loss/grief?
Well, I compose music! This time it was a concentrated and Intense creative process that made me write "Im Memoriam" for Viola solo and String orchestra.
It took me less than hours to compose this Adaigo of 4:30
When I played the composition for my wife Miriam (Who is a piano pedagogue), she remarked: "I can hear J.S.Bach air in there". And on Sunday @alessandrawhite commented on our Creativeworkhour podcast:
“…..We (Creativeworkhour Crew) got to listen to that piece and it was heart-wrenching and uplifting all at the same time…I felt like that moment many of us have seen that film called Schindler's list and the music that is the soundtrack for that film will break your heart if you weren't already a mess in your seat from watching that Film…..”
You can judge for your self whne you listen to it, my music can be found on most of the streaming platforms now and I'm closing in on more than 70 compositions now taht are availible to listen on. But here's the link to Im Memoriam on Spotify and Youtube Music:
