There has been an update to the Polls page

Since the latest major poll about Constant Block Rewards, read more about it on reddit, the community created a new parameter to calculate the current voting shares.

Introducing Active Vote-Weight (aka AV-W)

As Gridcoin is a Proof-of-Stake coin, it can be difficult to know how much of the actual active coins that is present to vote for something. We can have a larger amount of lost coins, or a large horder that is no longer active and will just never vote for anything.

AV-W was introduced to solve this issue once and for all, and is now present on all polls on Gridcoinstats.eu that have a Magnitude+Balance voting.

Understanding AV-W

AV-W = (Average Difficulty * 9544371.769) + ((TotalNetworkMagntiude- Average Pool Magnitude)* (Average MoneySupply/TotalNetworkMagnitude + 0.01)/5.67)

• TotalNetworkMagntiude is always a constant, roughly 115 000.
• Average Difficulty is the block difficulty.
• Average Pool Magnitude is average summary in magnitudes of all GRCPool.com stakes.
• Average MoneySupply is the average Total coins of the network.

By moving your mouse pointer over the AV-W field, you can see these numbers and verify the accuracy of the data.

All average values is during the poll lifetime, meaning that the value is not 100% accurate until the poll ends.
