Whether you loved or hated the debacle's between Steemit's own Grumpy Cat the sad news of the day is that the original Grumpy Cat has passed away.

The announcement was made by the owners on Twitter Friday morning.
"Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grumpy encountered complications from a >recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became to tough for her to overcome.
"She passed away peacefully...at home in the arms of her mommy, Tabatha."

The owner of the cat, Tabatha Bundesen posted a picture of the cat online back in 2012 and he became an immediate online sensation that saw millions of followers of various social media platforms.
The cat had 1.5 million followers on Twitter, more than 8 million followers on Facebook and 2.4 million on Instagram.
The cat made so much money that it enabled it's owner to quit her job as a waitress.
Her owner Tabatha Bundesen, of Morristown, Arizona, was even able to quit her job as a waitress, thanks to her pet's >earnings, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

A lawyer for the owner said that last year the cat won a $710,000 payout in a settlement when a company went beyond their contractual agreement for usage of it's meme.
Last year she won a $710,000 (£556,000) payout following a lawsuit against a coffee company that used her image >beyond the limits of a contract they had signed with the cat's owners.
At the time, Grumpy Cat's lawyer David Jonelis, said he believed it was the first time an internet meme had won a court case.
