A few days ago @daniel82 posted that he had 3d printed some guitar picks for me. They arrived today.
I love the whole concept of 3d printing and I'm fascinated by what it can produce. I think I had seen some picks on the Thingiverse site that is basically a library of objects you can print off. I hadn't had an opportunity to try any before now.
The Punisher picks are pretty thick all the way across. That makes them a little tricky to play with. The Darth Vader and alien faces have a thin point and work better. So far I've found the alien ones best. They are a little scratchy, but may wear down to something smoother. I'll try them for a while as I'm interested to see how durable they are.
I've love to have my own 3d printer, but I'm just not sure how much I'd use it. I'd at least like easy access to one, so it may be something to invest in with a few friends. There are various models around for a few hundred pounds now. There are industrial models that can print in all sorts of materials, but they can cost many thousands.
So thanks to Daniel for this. I've sent him some Steem Dollars as I will for anyone who contributes to my pick collection. I really don't mind if they are just decorative. I just want a nice variety. I look forward to meeting Daniel at Steemfest.
I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
