The constant pressure on the springs can cause issues so it is recommended to switch them out every 15 to 30 days. Here is a helpful video.
Failing to do so may result in a weak spring that could fail to load the round properly. This could mean life or death so don't leave it to fate if you can help it.
I always keep AT LEAST one full MAG because never know when your home could be the unlucky selection on the home invasion lottery. Some may ask?

My baby. AR15 pistol
Why a rifle? (Technically a pistol)
Aren't I worried about over penetration? Yes and no. Not to disclose too much of the tactics around my personal home defense contingency. The intention would be to send at least a few rounds through material that would otherwise be cover for handgun rounds BEFORE my family would be exposed to people with bad intentions.
Assuming our home had been breached, this could also serve as a psychological deterrent from further encroachment through the FIBS or FIBSA factor. (F*ck I've been shot or F*ck I'm being shot at)
I don't say this as a fellow expecting to RAMBO my way through such an engagement. Life isn't a video game and I know this but also acknowledge that the civilized world is becoming increasingly less civilized and accordingly more dangerous.
