The Hairshares Project, created in tandem with @officialfuzzy, aims to inspire people to donate their hair to worthy causes like Wigs For Kids, Locks for Love and Beautiful Lengths.
For those that donate their hair, inspire others to do so, or donate/contribute to the Hairshares community, they are awarded HAIRSHARE tokens.
Currently, there are three markets on the Bitshares DEX where you can obtain some value out of your HAIRSHARE tokens (see below), but I'll be adding a new option today.
The new option for using/exchanging your HAIRSHARE tokens is to earn a vote from the @nepd account. Creeping closer to 10k Steem Power, my account can now offer a small boost to those that have earned HAIRSHARE. Here is how.

Write a fantastic post. I reserve the right to refund HAIRSHARE tokens if a low-quality/NSFW post is submitted.
Send a selected amount of HAIRSHARE tokens to "nepd1" via the Bitshares/OpenLedger DEX, including your post URL as a memo. As this is a purely positive endeavor, there is no option to downvote, only upvotes will be carried out.
Each token will earn you a 4% upvote from the @nepd account, currently worth about 7 cents. A 100% (about $1.60) upvote will cost you 25 tokens. This exchange rate will be tweaked as needed.
This is not yet an automatic process, so please be patient with the voting. If your post has less than 24 hours until payout, I would not recommend requesting a vote.
These are the already existing options for exchanging your HAIRSHARE tokens.
Currently available for purchase or able to be sold at .5 BTS.
Exchanged at a rate of 5-1, that means you should never have to pay more than 2.5 BTS for a WHALESHARE token.
Exchanged at a rate of 20-1, that means you should never have to pay more than 10 BTS for a BEYONDBIT token.
