For all other steemians here, this is a Nepalese new year 2074 BS. Not to be misunderstood with AD(Anno Domini), we celebrate our own BS(Vikram Samvat). It is an era used in India and Nepal, just like the Christian era started in 1 CE. The Vikram Samvat started in 58/57 BCE in southern (purnimanta) and 57/56 BCE in northern (amanta) systems of Hindu calendar. The era is named after king Vikramaditya. And today is Baishakh 1st, 2074 BS. Baishakh is the first month in the Vikram Samwat calendar, the official Nepali calendar. This month usually lies between the second half of April and the first half of May. Today is 14th april, 2017 in Nepal time, and it's Baishakh 1, a new beginning for us. So, let's take another year of success and happiness. With a new year, there comes a new beginning, new challenges and obstacles. Let's develop courage, hope and faith to overcome all the hurdles that we may face in life. A great year and wonderful time ahead!
