What this means for you
Practically speaking, as long as Segwit2x releases something that works for mining by July 21, we should get Segwit on the network around August 23. That means that Lightning Network transactions should be available soon after and everyone will be watching to see if block congestion and transaction fees reduce.
The Hard Fork may last until late Nov/Dec 2017
Here's some serious things you should do to protect you BTC's r other alt coins.
As of July 21 BTC are possibly moving/upgrading to Segwit2x that's why you are seeing BTC prices going down along with Etherium. We are heading to a possible hardfork during July-August 2017. these are the measures you should take to protect any BTC you have on exchanges.
1 From July 21st to 30th August 2017 Stop accepting BTC from anyone.
2 Do not send any BTC or alt coins to anyone after July 29 to anyone or company.
3 Do not leave your BTC or other alt coins on exchanges or online processors because you are giving access to your private keys and a third party who could steal your private keys, BTC or alt coins and giving these exchanges or companies access to do what they want with your BTC or alt coins and coins maybe stolen or lost.
4 The best thing to do is send all of your BTC/Alt Coins to an hardware wallet but they are expensive, or have a secure wallet on your desktop such as https://www.exodus.io/ Airbitz wallet is the world's most secure wallet.

6 Do not accept any new offers to increase your BTC or Alt coins during this period.
7 The online programs that you are presently in should in theory be safe but do not go into any new online programs after July 21st
8 If you have private keys to print them off and makesure that you close your curtains while doing this so nobody can see the information.
9 Many have hard wallets that can store BTC/Alt coins but these are expensive over £100 GBP
10 You do not have to sell your BTC's or other ALT Coins until after the hardfork which could last possibly through to Nov/Dec 2017 when prices should go back up, (If they don't go to Segwit2x then BTC's could split into several other forms of BTC's which may or may not have value so be careful.
The Hardfork is looking more likely than not so better be prepared ready to protect your Crypto currencies while you still have a chance. Please note nobody fully knows what will happen so best to take WARNING while you can.
