Community Empowerment: The new governance feature puts the power in your hands. You have the opportunity to propose changes, improvements, and new initiatives that can shape the future of HashKings.
Transparency: We believe in open and transparent decision-making. Through the governance feature, you will have visibility into the proposals, discussions, and voting results, fostering a sense of trust and accountability within our community.
Active Participation: Your voice matters. By participating in the governance process, you can directly influence the decisions that impact the development and growth of HashKings.
How Your Vote Is Measured
In the governance process, every vote counts, and we want to ensure a fair and transparent system. Here's how the voting power is calculated:
Staked BUDS: The number of BUDS staked by a user plays a significant role in determining their voting power. The more BUDS you stake, the greater influence you have in shaping the decisions.
Time-Based Bonus: To encourage long-term commitment and engagement, a time-based bonus is applied to the voting power. Every 3 days, a bonus of 0.5% is added to the base voting power, which includes the BUDS staked. The more time your BUDS are staked, the more weight you have within the governance.
By incorporating the time-based bonus, we recognize and reward users who actively participate and stay invested in the HashKings ecosystem. This dynamic calculation ensures that your voting power grows over time, reflecting your ongoing support and dedication.
During the initial voting phase, the voting power of each user is calculated based on their staked BUDS and any accumulated time-based bonus. This calculation provides a fair representation of the community's sentiment and helps determine the viability of proposals.
It's important to note that for a proposal to proceed to the final voting stage, a minimum of 10% of all staked BUDS must participate in the initial voting phase. This requirement ensures a broad and diverse range of perspectives, allowing for a more inclusive decision-making process.
Once a proposal successfully moves to the final voting stage, a separate but similar voting mechanism is utilized on our dedicated website. Users can vote directly from the website, expressing their support or opposition to the proposal.
The results of the voting are publicly accessible, providing transparency and accountability to the entire HashKings community.
Limits to Ensure Efficiency
While we encourage active participation, it's essential to establish certain limits to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the governance feature:
Resources: Please consider that proposals have to be realistic, we're not a triple A studio yet so we don't count with the resources for example to create super game even if a proposal is approved. Keep it to important decisions on tokenomics or changes in features we've already developed.
For example:
- creating soulbounds avatars to create more value for the generational avatars
- Opening the option to sell more landplots
Proposal Scope: Proposals should be relevant to the HashKings ecosystem and aim to benefit the community as a whole. They should adhere to our guidelines and guidelines for sustainability.
Voting Threshold: To move a proposal to the final voting stage, a minimum of 10% of all staked BUDS must participate in the initial voting phase. This ensures broad community engagement and representation.
Proposal Modifications: Significant changes to a proposal should be addressed through a separate proposal, allowing for focused discussions and clear decision-making.
How to Participate
Participating in the governance process is easy and accessible for everyone:
Create a Proposal: Start by sending 100k BUDS to null with "HK PROPOSAL" as memo, copy the transaction ID, and include it at the beginning of your post.
Craft a well-defined proposal: including a title, description, and details of the proposed changes or initiatives. Use the #hkproposal tag to categorize your post to find it fastly.
Engage in Discussions: Once your proposal is published, the community can view and discuss it.
Pre-approval comment: Once you post your proposal, one of our accounts will make a comment and all the users that are in favor of the proposal to pass to the final vote need to upvote the comment with at least 1%. and same with the person that are against it, they have to downvote that comment with just -1%-
Vote for Change: During this pre-voting period, users' voting power is calculated based on their staked BUDS and additional voting power gained over time. Cast your vote on proposals you believe will benefit HashKings, and help shape the future of our kingdom.
2 Weeks frame time: There's gonna be a room for 2 weeks for the original proposal to be discussed, adapted, edited and to be aproved/refused to pass. And then if it has enough positive votes, it will pass to final voting in the official governance UI
Proposal development: Once the proposal is approved in the official UI with also a 2 weeks time frame to be APPROVED/REFUSED. We're gonna start working on it ASAP!
