January was a good month health-wise for me. I managed most (started on the 2nd) of the first month of the year without alcohol and also performed some sort of exercise almost every day. February didn't start quite so well (I wonder why?) and I've not been pushing myself as hard as in January at all, but this past week with Scruffy the dog has reencouraged me and given me time and think about the physical health of myself and others.
I spend a minimum of 35 hours a week sat down being employed, and then there is Hive. Who else works at a desk and then spends a fair majority of their free time writing daily, managing communities, developing/playing games, curating content (ok I might be pushing it there) - pretty sure it's not just me.
This sort of arrangement has the makings of a sedentary lifestyle, and I'd rather link than list the massive list of problems that will likely occur if one does not move enough. What's enough for me is likely to be different for you and the next person, or dog, but the BBC reckons that fewer than 5000 steps a day is enough to see some benefit.
That's encouraging isn't it?
Just over 2,300 [steps]
isare enough to benefit the heart and blood vessels.
If you have a big house you might be able to do this at home but in my 60 square ft apartment even 100 toilet trips a day wont cut it.
Every extra 1,000 steps beyond the 4,000 reduced the risk of dying early by 15% up to 20,000 steps.
A pretty bold conclusion, isn't it? That's 15% not 14% or 16%...
Anyway, walking is good way to start the exercise ball rolling I reckon, and seemingly you don't need to do too much to start.
In the past I've been encouraged by people here to write more as a way of processing previous moments, documenting positive moments in life, and drawing out positive future plans. I'm really grateful for this, and admire the consistency and drive some authors here have to write almost everyday and provide something of interest, most of the time. However, this must mean we're all sitting down too much!
I'd really like to hear more from my friends on Hive regarding positive lifestyle changes in the form of physical activity, because I want you do enjoy your advancing years and crypto millions.

Could it have been the lack of visibility that made me think more inwardly during my walk yesterday, where this fog (or mist?) visited us and lingered for much of the day?

(Scroll down to the last 4 photos in a recent post to see what the view usually is from this location)
Scruffy didn't seem to mind the conditions too much and it was mostly business as usual.
Mum, if you are reading, you didn't give me anywhere near enough blue shit-bags! (I've still been picking it up though, even at dusk)

I'll never be a motivational speaker but I do try to encourage those around me to cycle, paddleboard, jog, and perform core or HIIT workouts. If it is not this messy haired fella (recent post), I hope you can find the encouragement to give your body something to do - it may deem itself surplus to requirements earlier than expected otherwise!
I'm not promoting getting a dog by the way, maybe you could borrow one for a week though?
Have a healthy and active weekend!
