High exposure to radio frequency radiation emitted by your cell phone causes cancer in rats. This is evident from two government studies.
The studies, conducted by the American health authority NIH, show that exposure to high radiation levels results in tumors in the tissue around nerves in the heart of male rats.
Both male and female rats exposed to the radiation showed signs of heart damage, the researchers said.
MUCH HIGHER
The radiation values were much higher than you would normally be exposed to when you call your cell phone.
Moreover, the whole body of the rodents was exposed to the radiation.
These findings do not necessarily have to apply to the use of mobile phones by people, according to NIH scientist John Bucher in a statement.
SIMILARITIES
"However, we saw that the tumors that appeared during these studies showed similarities with tumors that were previously observed during some studies on people who often call their cell phones," he warned.
Newborn rats and their mothers exposed to the radiation during lactation and lactation were lighter.
MOST EXTENSIVE
Bucher said that these are the most extensive studies to date on the health effects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation in rats and mice.
