I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Kenny Palurintano at Anarchapulco in 2019. He was a speaker at the conference and we had a great conversation about his presentations at the conference, his life and story, and much more.
This video is a good example of what it's like being at Anarchapulco. I actually just met Kenny for the first time not long before we filmed it. It literally seems like you're constantly meeting new people while at the conference. If you're a freedom lover and you feel quite alone in your hometown, going to Anarchapulco will be like a breath of fresh air. It sure was for me!
In this interview Kenny tells us his story of how he became an anarchist. He's very upfront without holding back, which is nice because you can tell he's sincere. He also summarizes his books he had printed.
I even learned something new when he talked about Rainbow Gatherings, which are basically remote meetups of anarchists who, from what I understand, function via a gift economy where no money is needed. Things such as food are gifted to each other. That's a different approach from Anarchapulco, which focuses on anarcho-capitalism where goods and services are traded freely using a medium of exchange such as US dollars, Mexican pesos, and cryptocurrencies.
