What is breathing?
Breathing is a process of gas exchange through the delivery of oxygen to the lungs through the inhalation and the removal of carbon dioxide through exhalation and has an immune and defensive role,It passes through three stages:
1- inhalation:
Is the process of introducing air into the lungs and occurs as a result of contraction of the diaphragm muscle.
2-exhalation:
Is the process of removing gases from the lungs into the outside air and occurs because of the expansion of the diaphragm muscle.
3-Rest period:
It is the interval between exhalation and inhalation to ensure a sound automatic operation.
☆Normal breathing rate:
Adults over 12 years of age 16 to 20 times per minute.
