We are electrical beings living in an electrical environment and the static which builds up in our bodies is effectively discharged when we pee outside.
5 days ago I wrote an article about the health benefits of earthing ourselves in a world where we are insulated most of the time. Under that post I received a message from @jasonb777 who kindly suggested this information and upon further research I can confirm he is right.
High salt content of urine
It turns out that urine is MUCH more conductive than water as you can see here in this home demonstration. It is all about the salt content.
My previous article on this subject concluded that not wearing shoes was the best way to earth yourself, therefore retaining the correct voltage for the optimum productivity of the cells in your body. So when we pee directly into the soil, we are grounded in this moment and our bodies are given a chance to discharge.
I learned about the benefits of earthing years ago and have been grounded ever since. I don't wear shoes by day and I sleep on an earthed bed by night.
But what about those of us who sit at a desk all day?
There are some great grounding mat options, available from Groundology

If you are not able to buy a grounding mat, and it's too cold to take your shoes off peeing outside is the perfect alternative.
I understand this is not always so simple, but now that you have this knowledge you can use it when possible.
The garden benefits too! π±
It turns out that peeing outside has multiple benefits for the land you pee on.
- Fertiliser
Urine is rich in nitrogen which plants love. But in order for urine to be an effective fertiliser it should be diluted with water, ten parts water, one part urine. So if you have a particular spot where you pee, you would be wise to have a bucket of water nearby with a jug, ready to add the ten parts water after peeing.
- Soil Enhancer
Urine also contains phosphorous and potassium which replenishes the minerals in the soil. If you want to give your vegetable garden a mega boost once a year, invite your friends round in late autumn and have everyone pee on it. Then put down vegetable peelings, leaves and hay as mulch and by springtime that soil will be loaded with nutrients ready to put back into your food.
- Compost Accelerator
The uric acid in urine accelerates compost decomposition. If you have a compost, your first pee of the day will do wonders in speeding up decomposition.
- Weed Killer
Don't fancy buying poisonous weed killer for that area of the garden you would like to clear? Just pee on it. A lot. Your first pee of the day will be the most effective.
- Animal Deterrent
That pungent first pee of the day is your territorial stamp which animals will recognise and stay away from.
In Conclusion
It seems to me that in this modern world so much has been forgotten and the power of pee is yet another example of this. It is good for us and it is good for the environment. Yet it is treated as a waste product, neutralised with chemicals.
There is much more I could say about the nutritional benefits and healing qualities of urine, especially if you fancy drinking your first pee of the day π
I will leave that for another post.
Happy peeing folks!
