Fenugreek is the third ingredient; will it help to boost 🔼 testosterone? The research follows below...
Over a 3 month time frame, I'm taking supplements, eating ridiculously high amounts of specific foods, and working out hard 🏋️♀️ to see if a man in his 40's can raise his testosterone level.
This Mystery Supplement has four Key components to it.
On Monday, April 23rd, we're going to look at all 4, conveniently split up because each deserves a post of it's own for those of you taking notes.
If you're a dude, and you plan on getting older, this 3 month self-experiment may serve as a guide for staying healthy and strong 💪 when you enter your 40's, and keeping your testosterone levels as high as they were when you were in your twenties (hopefully!)
The next blood test measurement of my testosterone levels are coming the 3rd week of June, and this whole experience and experiment is being shared honestly and completely, exclusively here, on Steemit.
FENUGREEK!
The studies found online suggest that fenugreek does 'support' healthy testosterone levels, however none of these studies were slam dunks as far as I could tell...
The way fenugreek works:
Via inhibition of enzymes that break down testosterone.
Preserving testosterone, by blocking the process which eliminates it in the body, is definitely a good measure to keep more testosterone, essentially 'raising' the amount in your body because it is not being metabolized.
How MUCH is preserved was not revealed.
If values were offered, before and after using fenugreek, that would have been extremely helpful...

I found this study which WAS double-blind and placebo controlled, by the National Institutes of Health:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/21116018/
The results do demonstrate an increase in testosterone in the men studied while weight training!
It appears that the increase was not as miraculous as I would have hoped, however.
Other studies demonstrate that fenugreek improves body composition, and a lower body fat % does promote elevated testosterone levels...
So the effects of fenugreek on testosterone could be both direct AND indirect; but even then, the amount of testosterone preserved or encouraged, while statistically significant, aren't high enough to be considered as a 'big' difference.
Still, I purchased the product and will use it for 12 weeks.
One more ingredient in this supplement to go!
Then we'll have the contest to guess what the price of the bottle (a one month supply) costs!
Details on that coming soon!
